    1. Hey Frank,

Vence again. Still struggling to get an 91 in tasting to reach master. Did one early this year (don’t think that one will >91) and will be taking two more just in case.

I’m also creating an instruction of how to get 80+ and 90+ in tasting exam to share with my friends (not going to make any $ with that for sure). I was also asked to provide sample scoresheet and I think it would be greate to have three (20/30/40 in score). Wondering if I can have your permission to use your American stout in it. You got >95 in Descriptive ability and Completeness, and 90-95 in Feedback, which makes it a classic example. I’ll put source on it for sure.

Still a draft ver but if you are intersted in I’d love to share my instruction with you for peer-review :P.

Side note: wonderign why you didn’t get >95 in feedback, maybe lack of comment on acidity? While you said it’s okay but I believe it’s not (while guideline doens’t mention anything about it).

      Thank you!

      • Hi Vance, feel free to use whatever you like, no problem at all. I’d also be happy to read the material, if you want to send it to me.

As for the acidity in the stout, I took a bit of a risk: it’s not actually mentioned by the guidelines (you’re right), but it’s normal to find a bit of it when dark malts are involved. I could certainly have been more specific, but I had no more space to write on the scoresheet 🙂

Fun fact: I guessed the beer was more similar to an Irish Stout than to an American Stout, it turned out it was actually a blend of standard and nitro Guinness!
